Allergy and Asthma Organization of Kenya is a registered not for profit patient organization for people with allergies, asthma, COPD’s and other respiratory related disease conditions.

We Endeavour to campaign, advocate, lobby individuals, families, healthcare professionals, government, institutions and other key relevant stakeholder important in decision making to improve health and quality of life for Kenyans suffering from the above disease conditions.

OUR GOALS

I. Improve access to and quality of Allergies, Asthma, COPD’s and respiratory related conditions CARE for all people suffering including the poor and most vulnerable.

II. Help people suffering from allergies, Asthma, COPD’s  and respiratory related conditions achieve control of their conditions at the least possible cost.

CORE BELIEFS

I. Allergies, Asthma, COPD’s and respiratory related conditions are life threatening conditions that need early and proper diagnosis and testing as well as the proper management plan, and should not be self diagnosed or self-tested.

II. Patients suffering from allergies, Asthma, COPD’s and other respiratory related conditions have a right to quality evidence-based healthcare from qualified health professionals.

III). Patients suffering from allergies, Asthma, COPD’s and respiratory related conditions have a right to enjoy support and assisted management free from stigma from the family, community and work places.

IV). Integrating prevention with treatment reduces ER and hospitals visits, thus curbing school absentsim in children and adults absconding work and allow adequate participation in activities of daily life.
