Pesticides are poisons and can be hazardous.Unfortunately, people in Kenya are not aware of their danger due to prevalence of uneducated persons in the area. Pesticides sellers are not selling safe chemicals in Kenya.Misuses of pesticides still occur.It is estimated that 10% of the entire Kenyan population has asthma, half of the population of those affected being children. Many Kenyans unknowingly suffer from asthma. There is a lack of community awareness and people underestimate the severity of asthma. Elements in these pesticides are acting as allergens affecting school going children as they are carried by wind from one homestead to the next homestead especially in the Pastoralists  Maasai Community that stays together in close huts called Manyattas and in bomas with inadequate ventilation.
